Phenomenal hike for people who want their own "private Bryce Canyon" - this less frequented 3 mile loop (loop itself takes hours) pairs nicely with other trails.

peek a boo trailhead

Parking is available at Bryce Point. While some consider this a more moderate hike, due to the rapid elevation change and the length this hike is considered hard. But we stopped to take in the view so much we barely broke a sweat. Being at the bottom of the canyon looking up at the formations covered in snow was such a great experience. Total hike for us was 3hrs. Let me know if I can help you plan as great of a trip our family had today, Damon Kinton damonkinton yahoo. Best hike I have made in decades! And bring sunscreen! There is one vault toilet in the middle of the hike-no t. We took the hard way. Jennifer Ferguson Loftin. I hope you enjoy this incredible hike as much as we did! The beauty was unsurpassable! Those frequent stops to record and document probably made my hike successful. Josh Cook recorded Peekaboo Loop Trail. Glad to finally experience it. One of my all-time favorite hikes! Way more switchbacks than I anticipated. No water sources on the trail but there is 1 restroom. Jennifer Hemberg recorded Peekaboo Loop Trail. That said, it was indeed strenuous. Heard from other hikers to go in from the Navajo Trail to avoid the mile long switchback at the beginning and end. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and horses and is best used from April until October. We saw several families with year old kids. This one is one of the first for the season! This 5. Beautiful way to get down into the actual canyon. Plenty of shady spots to take a break. Views around every turn. Can get the heart rate going on the way back up. Hiked in a t-shirt and shorts and was hot the majority of the hike. We would have hiked a 2nd trail afterwards but the park was crowded and all the parking areas were full. But it is strenuous. The hardest part in my opinion was last 20 minutes of the trail, when we were going back up to the start. Be prepared to ascend as fast as you descend. The extra work with the mileage and incline is well worth it. We hiked into the park from the Tropic entrance. Just completed this trail today. Another great hike to see a variety of formations in Bryce. Gorgeous views the whole way through. Alex Drena. Saw about 30 people throughout the entire 5 mile hike and the weather was a windy 60F which was nice since it was sunny the whole time. Incredible trail! So many angles to view the formations. Hikers are cautioned to be aware that this trail is shared with horses. A must do at Bryce Canyon. It truly taxed me but I made it without mishap. Ann Cory. Horses are also able to use this trail. Amazing trail!! Great trail! Been waiting for years to hike this trail in the snow and finally had the opportunity to do so last month. Peekaboo Loop Trail moderate Show More Show Less. But, there were young children on parts and even old fogies like me. Visitors Center staff were very helpful and inspired us to do more than just the overlooks. Zoe Vigna recorded Peekaboo Loop Trail. The views are amazing, and I had no idea the trail would take us right down to the bottom of the canyon. I would suggest taking the loop counter clockwise to take advantage of the nice benches and to save energy for the climb back out. Stunning views! We started this trail at in the morning and it blew us away. I would bring a light jacket to wear for when you stop. Note: As of January , weather conditions may close Bryce Point. Reviews Sort by:. Lindsey Bailey. Beautiful hike! The hardest part of the hike was the last half mile - switchbacks the whole way. Loved this one! This hike was gorgeous! Distance: 5. Numerous views of the canyon. Amazing views during the entire hike! Jesse Tollefson. Shorter than the fairyland loop with the same amount of elevation change. I think that anyone can do it as long as they paced themselves. All Trails App is incredible and I highly recommend the Pro version! Please check with the park before visiting. Allison Sarc recorded Peekaboo Loop Trail.{/INSERTKEYS}{/PARAGRAPH} Some Verizon coverage in certain areas. Takes you down into the canyon as well! We gave our kids the phones so they could take all the pictures they wanted and I predict July and August would be very hot and exposed after 10am so start early in the summer. Recommend your kids favorite candy so every uphill switchback they get a Skittle or Hershey Kiss to take their mind off the incline. Mary Kunkel recorded Peekaboo Loop Trail. As advised by one of the junior rangers we took the horse trail. Luckily the weather was between 65 and 75, I started early, had plenty if water and healthy snacks. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}Peekaboo Loop Trail is a 5. The trail right from the start is muddy and icy. It took just over three hours. Take a lot of water, do in the morning or evening-it will be hot in the afternoon. Hiked with my 59 year old mom and the last mile was a doozy for her. Went during pandemic so this was one of few trails open but was really great. Amanda M. Gabby M. When you get to the actual start of the peek a boo loop I went left instead of right, which I think was the better choice climbed first and then coming back the other side of the loop was easy. Great trail Lots of switchbacks, do early because it gets pretty warm in the sun. Duh, hike it.
